Mary’s Pence has been named the 2019 Grantmaker of the Year in the private sector category by the Grant Professionals Association (GPA). Representatives from Mary’s Pence will accept the award at the GPA Annual Conference in Washington, DC, on November 7, 2019.

GPA’s Grantmaker of the Year Award recognizes public and private funders that improve the way grant professionals do their work and acknowledges outstanding contributions to the field of grantmaking.

Meg Eubank, Executive Director of Welcoming the Stranger in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, nominated Mary’s Pence for the award. Welcoming the Stranger is a 3-time Mary’s Pence grantee.

“Mary’s Pence can make a large impact on small nonprofits as they develop their programming and make real change in the world,” Meg wrote in her nomination. “The staff and board at Mary’s Pence build personal relationships with their grantees, proving time and time again that they are truly interested in the work they are helping to fund and invested in helping to make the work successful.”
