CloseKnit focuses on the wellbeing and safety of youth who experience homelessness. Recognizing that to best serve youth facing homelessness, young people’s voices and experiences need to be heard, CloseKnit works to shift the conversation on youth homelessness by investing in connections between youth and their natural supports along with researching, training, and advocating for practices that support the needs of homeless youth. CloseKnit is now pioneering strategies and tools to strengthen the informal hosting arrangements youth are already creating among trusted adults. One strategy is using Circle Maps — a tool used by CloseKnit to help youth identify possible informal hosting arrangements from within their already existing network of adults.
