California Coalition for Women Prisoners (CCWP) is a second time Mary’s Pence grantee, and their mission is to advocate for women in prison and those who have been released and are facing a difficult transition. Their Drop LWOP (Life Without Parole) campaign focuses on systems change advocacy for women serving life without parole. CCWP will continue to expand and strengthen a statewide network of organizations, family members, and other community advocates to educate and organize for an end to extreme sentencing in California. Their goal is to gain commutation for all and change the state penal code to end life without parole sentencing.
