25th Anniversary Celebration - April 28, 2012
Mary’s Pence is celebrating its 25th anniversary! We will be gathering in Chicago on April 28th for a simple celebration of women and our work. We’re celebrating our Wise Women – founders and past board and staff – for creating Mary’s Pence, an organization with a mission to support women of faith doing the work of justice.
We’re celebrating our donors and compañeras, who’ve given such wonderful moral support and encouragement over the years, and an incredible amount of financial resources to support women and our mission. And most importantly we’re celebrating our grantees… the great women who are making change in their communities, for the sake of women.
We’ll be sending out more information after the first of the year, but wanted you to save the date – April 28th in Chicago. We’d love to hear from you if you are expecting to come, or if you would like to help with planning or on-the-ground logistics in Chicago. Exploring a new global vision built on the interconnectedness of environmental sustainability, spiritual fulfillment and a more socially just human presence on Earth. Kathie Power-O'Brien will facilitate this Symposium looking again at our ancestors throughout the ages and the gifts women have given to Earth.
Because we will need nourishment to continue our journey the morning will conclude with a Liturgical Meal and a Blessing of the women and men present and willing to work toward gender equity in an eco-just world. There is a suggested donation of $15-30 for lunch and program; the program will end at 1:30.
